What's more noteworthy than the most popular names are the trends BabyCenter saw this year. "I was surprised to see how much of a pop culture influence we're seeing on the list," BabyCenter's Editor in Chief Linda Murray said. "Half of moms surveyed said 'If I hear a great name on TV, I'm going after it.'"

Mason pulled ahead in the rankings which means there are a whole bunch of new parents who trust the Kourtney's judgement. While it's a little troubling to think about a Kardashian, albeit the "smart one" setting trends here, Murray points out that most of their 'K' names are down in popularity。

然而想到某位Kardashian(Kim Kardashian結婚72天即閃離>>)的時候就有些惱人了,雖然聰明的Kourtney在此引領潮流。

In another kind of nod to television culture, both Anderson and Cooper (as a first name) were popular. "Parents think he's strong, smart and compassionate," Murray said. And unsurprisingly, parents want their boys to be all of those things。

Moving slightly away from pop culture, William and Kate gained popularity. But, new parents got crafty. The bigger royal trendsetters were the other prince, Harry, and everyone's favorite sister-in-law Pippa。

In honor of Steve Jobs, many more parents named their baby boys Steve. But, he wasn't the only tech giant who influenced the list: Jerry (Yahoo!), Ray (HP), etc., were all up in popularity. The one techie who lost staying power? Mark Zuckerberg。

但是Jobs並不是唯一影響榜單的科技巨頭,Jerry(雅虎創立者Jerry Yang楊致遠)、Ray(惠普董事Ray Lane)等的人氣都有所上升。

They're back: Rains, Rivers, Sunshines... It could be that being eco-minded has finally worked it's way into baby-naming. It could be parents trying to be unique. But, along with this trend, Murray says all of the summer month names (May, June, etc。) are big. So if you're looking for unusual, try December。

The names of current political figures are too charged, but they have huge influence via their kids. Chelsea (as in Clinton) jumped up hugely, while dad Barack dropped。

Chelsea(Clinton總統的獨生女)這個名字迅速躥紅,而Barack卻有所滑落。

Some of the superhero names parents choose are sensible: Peter, May (Spidergirl), Alan (The Green Lantern), Charles, Emma and James (X-Men). Even real-life hero Gabrielle Giffords had influence -- BabyCenter saw Gabby and Gabrielle climb up the list。

  一些父母會給孩子取大英雄的名字,這完全合乎情理:Peter(蜘蛛俠)、May(蜘蛛女郎)、Alan(綠燈俠)、Charles, Emma and James(X戰警)。
